Market Place Food Hall
We were appointed by our long-standing client, Market Place Food Hall, to design, supply, and install the fire alarm system for their food hall venue located in St Paul’s. As a busy, food-led environment with high occupancy and extended operating hours, the venue required a robust, compliant, and carefully coordinated life safety solution.
Overview
Our involvement began at an early stage of the project, working closely with the client and wider project team to review plans, undertake detailed surveys, and agree the fire alarm strategy prior to installation. Drawing on our established working relationship with Market Place Food Hall, we delivered a solution aligned with both regulatory requirements and the practical demands of a fast-paced hospitality setting.
Fire Alarm System
We supplied and installed an Advanced Electronics MXPro5 fire alarm control panel utilising Apollo Fire Detectors protocol, providing a reliable and scalable system suitable for a high-footfall food hall environment.
The system was designed to achieve Category L1 life protection, delivering comprehensive coverage across all areas of the venue, including food preparation areas, back-of-house spaces, plant rooms, and ancillary areas. Sounder beacons were installed throughout to ensure clear and effective audible and visual warning for occupants and staff.
Approximately 2,000 metres of FP fire-resistant cabling were installed as part of the system infrastructure.
System Integration & Landlord Interfaces
A key aspect of the project was the successful integration of the tenant fire alarm system with the landlord’s life safety systems. We liaised closely with the landlord’s representatives and associated contractors to ensure correct interfacing, cause-and-effect operation, and full compliance with site requirements.
This collaborative approach ensured the fire alarm system functioned seamlessly both as a standalone installation and as part of the wider building fire strategy.
Delivery & Outcome
The project was delivered efficiently and to programme, meeting all client and landlord requirements. Our proactive coordination, technical expertise, and understanding of operational hospitality environments ensured a smooth installation with minimal disruption.
The completed fire alarm system provides a compliant, reliable, and future-ready life safety solution, supporting the safe operation of a busy London food hall and reinforcing our long-standing relationship with Market Place Food Hall.
